About

Linda is an educator, landscape designer, horticulturist, sculptor, painter and Santa Cruz resident for over 40 years.  Linda’s work portrays the mystical, practical, creative and playful aspects of womanhood.  Her devotion to clay reflects her long standing passion of working in soil and manifesting new life through earth, water and inspiration.  Themes of her work include:

  • Fantasy female spirits and their pets
  • Caricatures of the feminine presence as puppets
  • Busts as depictions of human emotion

Her technique is the subtle use of underglaze to produce a watercolor effect on strong clay form.  This produces warm, inviting, emotional characters that captivate imagination and personal identification.   She frequently combines sculpture with a wide variety of succulent specimens she personally propagates at her greenhouse.  Linda’s art and landscape design are exhibited at Mounter Art Center, Ben Lomond and at various sites in Santa Cruz, Los Gatos and Monterey, California.
